Air Jordan 3

Launched in 1988, the Air Jordan 3 is the very first pair to have been designed by Tinker Hatfield, the former architect turned designer. Its curves captivated Jordan and convinced him to renew his contract with the American firm. Its look and semi-high construction significantly contrast with the first two Jordans. One of the most striking details is the application of the now-famous elephant print. It is also the first basketball shoe to feature Nike's visible Air technology. Another innovation is the arrival of the Jumpman logo in place of the traditional "Wings" logo introduced on the first Air Jordan. It has since become the official logo of the American sportswear brand. Michael Jordan wore the pair during the 1987-1988 NBA season, during which he received the title of the best player for the first time.
